Beden olumlama ve yoga son yılların yükselen trendlerinden ikisi. Kanadalı Vanessa, bu iki trendi Instagram’da en iyi şekilde insanlarla buluşturuyor ve öğrendiklerini herkesle paylaşmak istiyor!

Sosyal medyada hızla yayılan beden olumlama akımı her türlü vücut şeklini kapsar ve kabul eder. Özellikle moda endüstrisinin kadınlar üzerinde yaptığı ölçü baskılarını yıkarak, en zayıfından en şişmanına, “kusur”” diye nitelendirilen tüm vücut özelliklerine kadar her görüntüyü kabul eden bu akım bedenin olduğu gibi kabul edilmesini ve sevilmesini dile getiriyor.

Vanessa da beden olumlamanın önemini kavramış ve bunu takipçilerine yaymak isteyen bir Instagram kullanıcısı. Vanessa, bu isteğini 2012 yılından beri yaptığı yoga ile gerçekleştiriyor.

I never envisioned myself doing a handstand never mind a split in one. . I'd see yogis do them on IG and think how cool it looked but I'd never get there. Not strong enough, brave enough, flexible enough, id find any reason to say I couldn't. . Thankfully I never quit trying and squashed any negativity I had about myself when learning this pose. I knew deep down that I could. I just had to stop the negative voices in my head saying I couldn't. . And I think that's the key with ANY pose. You just have to keep trying and keep practicing. I mean it took me 4 years to get to this point. It was not an overnight deal by any means. . When they say practice and all is coming that really is it. Practice. Have a shit load of patience. Bedeni ile eskiden barışık olmadığını ve sürekli diyet yaparak zayıflamaya çalıştığını söyleyen Vanessa,

Let every movement feed you. Feel every breath through your body. Move as you want to move in your practice. Lets face it there is always going to be someone who’s got a problem with it, so don’t try to please everyone. Please yourself and how you want your practice to be. I don’t think about my movements so much anymore, I just let them come naturally. Spinal rolls ( like the plank to down dog I do here) are some of my favourite for warming up the spine. ↠ I live for the freedom of movement. To come onto my mat and move as I desire. I will never be put into a box, told I can only move a certain way. Free to express and free to move as I crave. Yoga sayesinde bedenini daha çok sevmeye başladığını ve dikkatini zayıflamaktan mutlu olmaya kaydırdığını söylüyor.

 

Sevdiği çoğu şeyden kendini mahrum bırakarak mutsuzluğa düşmekten vazgeçen Vanessa,

A women’s instinct/intuition. A particular part I’m on in Women Who Run With Wolves. You know, that feeling deep down, or that voice in your mind, that tells you if its a good idea or to run like hell. That initial feeling you get with someone, a idea, a decision, is what your intution is telling you. ↠ I have done this a lot. Especially when meeting someone who has made me uncomfortable. Instead of acknowledging my intuition that is telling me this person is making me feel uneasy for a very very real reason. I brush it off as me being judgmental, over thinking it, or being a bitch. ↠ Had I listened to my intuition on a few occasions, I could have stayed out of harms way and avoided a few very painful situations. While reading that particular part in the book. I thought back to sooo many instances where I ignored it. How it was literally screaming at me to listen. ↠ So it’s something I very much need to work on myself. To listen to that inner instinct/intuition when it comes to how people make me feel, regardless how it could perceive me to others ↠ Also, I know some of you have gone and gotten this book. Trust your feelings, trust your body, trust your intuition. Trust that you know how beautiful you are. There’s always going to be people who will try to take make you feel insecure and feel like they feel. But you need to trust yourself and KNOW that is not true. There will be people who will pass judgment, opinions. Trust yourself and let their judgments and opinions pass on by. _ I had a lot of problems with this, I never trusted my opinions, my thoughts, my feelings on my body. I always looked to others to verify and took everyones opinions and judgments to heart. But once I started to trust myself I realized that no one else opinions mattered. Üst vücudu daha iyi şekilli ve görece zayıf olmasına rağmen alt vücudu her zaman şişmanmış ve bunu değiştirmeye çok çalışmış.

Who am I? _ I am a dreamer, I envision what I want, and I accomplish it. I was a traveler, and will be again one day, traveling to places not necessarily far from home – some the prettiest places are in your own country. I spent a few months at 16 going across Canada and loving it. I travelled because I wanted to find something I was missing. I just didn’t know what it was. I am a free spirit in a way, I don’t handle being told I “must” do something. If someone tries to corner me into doing something or tries to tell me I have to do X, I will bolt as fast as possible. I need freedom and the option to say no if I don’t feel it is right for me. I always have to have options. I am a survivor of abuse and I spend a lot of my time now writing down all the things I wish I had heard when I was going through tough times, or when I hated my body. _ I don’t worry about what I wear anymore. I've been getting a lot of DM's asking where to start yoga as a beginner All I have learned has been done online/self taught. I've tried out lots of programs and techniques and have found what works for me. But to start, I did a lot of yoga though online programs. The 2 I recommend for beginners is @omstarsofficial – 300+ classes with lots aimed for beginners and health/food videos as well. You can use code GYPSYYOGA for 1 month free ( complete access to everything) to test it out and see if the programs offered work for you. My other recommendation is @codyapp – they have a lot of yoga / food plans and great content. Once you have a solid base you can start building your own practice and crafting a practice that works for you. Bunların onu artık üzmediğini, aksine onlar için daha çok üzüldüğünü dile getiriyor. Vanessa için bir insanın başkasını bu kadar kıracak bir şekilde konuşması hiç de normal ve doğru değil…

Vanessa çekimleri sırasında bol bol sıcak içecek özellikle çay tükettiğini, çekim için hazırlık yaparken üzerinde kolayca giyip çıkarabileceği kalın kışlık kıyafetlerinin olduğunu dile getiriyor.

#LetsBalance | Tomorrow our pose is Bakasana I really like this pose as a intro into balancing. It was one of the first arm balances I really figured out. It takes a lot of core engagement as well as faith. I would begin by lifting one foot at a time as I leaned forward, putting the weight into my hands. I also recommend if you are very uneasy with this arm balance to place a pillow in front of you. I like to grip my fingers tips, turning them into “spider” fingers. This helps a lot with keeping the balance. MODIFICATION If the expression I’ve gone with isn’t comfortable for you, please keep both or one foot on the ground.
